Amazon's Alexa Coming to Windows PCs

Cortana volition soon take a new friend (or foe) on Windows PCs: Alexa.

CES 2022 bug art Amazon's vocalism assistant is coming to PCs during the first quarter, starting with machines from Acer. With Alexa enabled, yous can ask your laptop or desktop to do anything you might ask of your Echo device: check calendars, create lists and reply questions, play music, and manage smart dwelling house devices.

Supported models include the latest Aspire 5, Aspire seven, Spin three, Spin 5, Switch vii Black Edition, Swift 3, Swift 5, Swift vii, Aspire Z24, Aspire U27, and Aspire S24. Notebooks with Acer Purified.Voice and four digital microphones, like the Switch vii Black Edition and Spin 5, volition support Alexa from upwards to 9 anxiety away. Machines with dual mics will work from 3 anxiety abroad.

Alexa PCs will tap into Intel Smart Audio Technology; Acer says it will not impact system operation.

"Hands-gratis access to Alexa on PCs can be helpful to customers in many means, like making it simple to interact with your smart home, get news or weather condition, set up timers, and more. This is a large step toward making Alexa bachelor wherever customers might demand her," Steve Rabuchin, Amazon Alexa VP, said in a statement.

Amazon Alexa will ringlet out on Acer PCs in the United states via an update through Acer Intendance Center; other regions volition get it in mid-2018.
